Anandini and Shyam (Sam) come from the same lineage of Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra; one of the main architects of the present day Odissi. Having traversed separate paths, with the common intent of pure hearted devotion to this art form, these two dancers met in Odisha half a decade ago. That’s where the seed was sowed in their minds to promote Odissi with full integrity and honesty to make it easily accessible within and outside India using the same ancient concept of yatra in India. We would like to present this special Odissi performance that has been very carefully assembled to showcase grace, beauty and power of Odissi that will touch many hearts.

Anandini Dasi, born in Argentina who has devoted her life to Indian classical dance Odissi. She is an established and well sought after Odissi dancer within and outside India. She trained under renowned Guru Padma Shri Gangadhar Pradhan, Smt. Sujata Mohapatra, Guru Bichitranada Swain and Sri Arun Pradhan.

Anandini performed and conducted various workshops and lecture demonstrations in Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Perú, Argentina and India some of these were organised by ICCR. She had the opportunity to offer her art in many religious Hindu festivals such as Maha Shivaratri, in the temple of Tillai Chidambaram and Sri Jagannath Nava Kalebara, in Puri, Odisha. Her hard work and dedication has helped her achieve the title of “Ambassador of Odissi dance in South America”, bestowed by the department of Culture of Odisha.

Besides her Odissi expertise she is well trained in Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedic Culture and Philosophy, Indian classical music, Classical Ballet and Martial Arts. Currently, Anandini lives in Odisha, completely dedicated to develop deeper understanding of the Odissi art form through her daily training and research.
