Beneath the Blue Moon
The phrase "once in a blue moon" has long been used to describe something rare.
A Blue Moon is not usually blue at all. It is a rare full moon that appears outside the usual rhythm of the lunar calendar, reminding us that some moments are extraordinary simply because they do not happen often.
In Indian poetry, mythology, and classical arts, the moon has long symbolised beauty, devotion, and transformation. In Odissi, these themes continue to live through movement, music, and storytelling.
Like the moon, dance returns again and again, yet no two moments are ever the same. Perhaps that is the gift of a Blue Moon: a reminder to pause, to look up, and to appreciate the beauty of the present moment.
